A day with Mnemy and Lethe.
She turned to the girls, obviously uncomfotable. “Please girls don’t fret. Be calm. You’ll be back to the river after this. I just need to clear some things up.”
She walked to her window that she always looked at to think, she saw the nebula that so many weeks ago Chaos started reeking his havoc. Her heart sank. “Have you guys felt anything unusual lately? The first night I was on Earth, I felt the energy of the Galaxy Cauldron. Has it been making stars again?” She walked to another window seeing the Galaxy Cauldron, not too close but not very far. It looked just fine to her, but she couldn’t be sure.
She debated whether or not to tell them about this man she’d met. “I also met a man. He has a strange aura, seems to always be out at night somewhere where he can see the stars. I’ve only ran into him twice, but the last time we ran into eachother I tried to teach him to dance. I felt Deja Vu with him, but I can’t remember the days before Chaos took over. I can’t even remember most days when he took over.” She looked worried she could feel it.
“I don’t know this man, or atleast I don’t think I do. And he hasn’t made any sign that he knows me. Do you guys possibly remember the time when our world was peaceful?”
Mnemosyne listened to all her Queen had to say with her eyes lowered, concentrating and processing the information in her mind. Her majesty had many questions to ask, and Mnemosyne wasn’t sure how to answer them all. Mnemosyne was surprised to hear her queen speak so casually of the man she had met. As the Queen finished and Mnemosyne considered what she had said, she vaguely heard Lethe speaking to the Queen.
“I’m afraid I won’t be very useful for coming up with answers for these questions. Mnemosyne has a much higher spiritual awareness than I, and lately she has been-”
“That’s alright Lethe, it’s nothing to concern the queen about,” Mnemosyne interrupted, she cheeks casting a rare pink glow. She was embarrassed about interrupting someone, her sister no less, but she would be even more embarrassed if Lethe told the Queen of her problems. The Queen had far more important things to worry about.
Mnemosyne looked up to her sister and Lethe sighed, silently agreeing not to interrupt. She turned her eyes to the Queen and then immediately lowered them out of respect before starting to answer some of her questions. “The Galaxy Cauldron has indeed been producing stars once more. I haven’t noticed anything strange about it lately, however I must admit my senses have been somewhat dulled of late by certain things… impeding upon them. So I have not been as perceptive as usual, but I am sure all will return to normal soon.”
“As for feeling the energy of the Cauldron while you were in Earth, I’m not sure. My guess would be it was simply your connection to the Cauldron; to this planet. Separation from such a sacred place that you have such a connection to can affect you in ways you don’t understand” Mnemosyne refused to think of the effects of the river on herself now for too long, but she could help but shake the thought that perhaps her Queen and her were going through similar ordeals. Mnemosyne shook her head slightly at herself. No, it was probably just a one off feeling for the Queen. There was no such connection between herself and her highness. “Have you had this ‘feeling’ since your first night? Or any other, strange sensings? I may be able to assist you better if you explain it in a little more detail.”
“I’m afraid I cannot offer you much relief on the subject of this man’s aura without having sensed it myself. I know very very little of humans, and nothing of human men; so I cannot begin to analyse his behaviour.”
And now she had come to the difficult questions. The questions of Galaxia’s past, the strange question that seemed to come from nowhere. Do you remember a time when our world was peaceful? Mnemosyne didn’t know how to answer that. It appeared that the queen was at a loss to her past and was searching for elucidation.
“Your Majesty,” Mnemosyne started, unsure of what to say, “I’m afraid we know no more of your time before Chaos than you, except for the fact that Sailor Lethe and I were not a part of it. We only joined you while you were… possessed by Chaos. I-I don’t know if your world, where you come from, was a peaceful place. Our planets, however, had not been truly peaceful for eons,” Mnemosyne felt her sisters hand envelope her own and squeeze it lightly as she continued “Only now have our people, our planets, reached true, everlasting peace.”
Mnemosyne looked to her sister with a small sad smile on her face and looked into her sister’s worrying eyes. Mnemosyne just wanted Lethe to embrace her, but knew she would not in such company. So she settled for the feel of her sister’s hand in her own as she waited for her Queen to continue, and to ask more questions. Clearly, the woman had a lot on her mind.
Turning back to the said woman, but not letting go of her sister’s hand, she asked “Is there anything else you’d like to talk about; anything you are unsure of? If you have any questions, we will be glad to answer them to the best of our abilities. We are here to be your counsel as you wish.”
